Guide to Default Role Access types

In this article, you will learn the default behavior of user access types by the following role types:

Admins (Lead Administrator)

Employee and data

  • By default, all employees, regular and smart custom segments

  • By default, all employee data including reports and Journey data

Tools Content

  • All content created by the Lead admin themselves, including Standard Administrators and Managers content.

Admins (Standard Administrator)

Employee and data

  • By default, only people reporting to them

  • Additional Georestriction settings may be applied, and when enabled, limits the employee access to people who belongs to the same location value.

  • Additional employee or segments may be added via Employee access settings and Dynamic Custom Segment assignment.

  • Employee and Journey data are limited based on the assignments above (only people they have access to)

  • Shared content by other Administrators or Managers

Managers (Primary or Secondary)

Employee and data

  • By default, only people reporting to them

  • Georestriction settings do not apply for Managers

  • Additional employee or segments may be added via Employee access settings and Dynamic Custom Segment assignment.

  • Employee and Journey data are limited based on the assignments above (only people they have access to)

  • All content created by the Manager themselves

  • Shared content by other Administrators or Managers
