How to edit a published journey in the Qualee console

This article is designed for both new and existing Qualee clients.

In this article you will learn how to make changes to an active/published Journey.

If you haven't read our article titled Introduction to Journeys, we highly suggest that you do so before you proceed with this article.

When and why do you need to edit a published Journey?

Editing or updating a published Journey is normally done for a few reasons, such as updating step information, correction of a typo or simply improving the structure of the Journey based on collected feedback and experiences of the past Journey participants.

There are two types of changes that can be done in a Published Journey

  1. Editing a Journey Step Introduction Box Content
    i.e. Grammar correction, image content updating, or revision.

  2. Changing a Journey Step Type
    i.e. Replacing a simple welcome message in a Text type step with a File step type containing Multimedia files such as videos or documents


Edit Content in a Step

  • Login to the Qualee Console

  • Go to Tools > Journeys and find the specific Journey you wish to update.

  • Click on the ellipsis icon inside the selected Journey window and choose Edit

  • Apply necessary changes in the Step Introduction box and click Save to apply the changes in the Step.

  • Click on Save as draft at the upper right to apply the changes in the Journey.


Change a Step Type

  • Login to the Qualee Console

  • Go to Tools > Journeys and find the specific Journey you wish to update.

  • Click on the ellipsis icon inside the selected Journey window and choose Edit

  • In the Journey Editor, select Switch type

  • Click on I understand, proceed

  • Select the type of step that you wish to use as a replacement to the edited step.

  • Make any necessary changes as needed then click Save to apply the step changes

  • Click on Save as Drafts at the upper right to apply the changes in the Journey

Important Note: All changes will apply to the overall Journey configuration and employees who have completed this journey and/or steps prior to the changes made will not be affected by the changes, while the new Journey participants will see all the latest changes applied.

Please also remember to download any relevant Journey responses before making any changes to prevent losing data. For example if you have replaced a step that previously collected an information i.e. Headshot photo, Upload Content, Survey, Quiz, Form with a Step type that does not collect information, the prior collected information may be lost in the process.

Tip:

You may also make text changes on other Qualee tools such as Quiz and Survey questions for any revisions as required.
