This article is intended for both new and existing Qualee clients.

Here, you will learn how to use personalized tokens, including user biographies as part of your Journey steps.

Why It’s Important

Including employee information such as a bio in a Journey step helps create a personalized and engaging experience. It fosters familiarity, strengthens connections between employees and managers, and ensures clear communication of roles and responsibilities.

Use Cases

  • Employee/New Hire Bio: Introduce employees to their managers, teams, departments, or office colleagues. This helps build context and connection within the organization.

  • Manager Bio: Introduce managers to their subordinates, including contact information and background details, to foster accessibility and rapport.

  • Buddy Bio: Introduce onboarding buddies who will guide new hires through their first day and early stages. Includes contact information and background to make the onboarding experience smoother and more personal.

How to create personalized Bio steps in Qualee

Step 1: Log in to the Qualee console as an administrator

Step 2: Create a Journey by clicking on Tools > Journeys > Create Journeys

Step 3: Add a step and select Text as your step type
Step 4: In the Step editor > Introduction section, click on See token list

Step 5: Insert the personalized token accordingly in your Step introduction text box

Important note:

Not all personalized tokens are applicable to all Journeys.

Some tokens are designed for Single Journeys and some are for Support Journeys.

Below is a sample introduction text box containing personalized tokens:

A. Single Journey > Targeting the Journey invitee

An employee invited directly to a Journey will see personalized token value and information based on their associated records, such as their email address {email.address}, start date {start.date}, department {department}, and other relevant details.

They will also see information about people associated with them, such as their manager, including the manager’s bio, contact information, and other relevant details.

B. Single Journey (Part of a Journey Sequence) Targeting the Journey Supporter who is assigned to complete a partial Journey within a Sequence

A user assigned to complete a Support Journey will see personalized token values and information for the employees who were directly invited to the Journey Sequence.

Important Note:

Whether you are creating personalized Bio Step for Invitees or Journey Supports, all personalized token value would only work if they are populated with content. e.g. Employee/Manager/Buddy Bio may show empty if no Bio has been created by the users yet.
